Clinical practice is mandatory. It takes place during the 1st and 2nd semesters and is completed during the 3rd semester. Postgraduate students are invited to choose one of the two (2) clinical practice pathways:
A) Clinical practice in advanced cardiopulmonary practice during which they are required to follow for a minimum of eighty (80) hours the activities of the Cardiothoracic Department, Aristotle University, at AHEPA University Hospital, which organizes the Postgraduate Program, as well as to observe at least twenty (20) open-heart procedures with extracorporeal circulation, which are registered for each student in a special database (logbook).
B) Clinical practice in perfusion, which includes observation of a minimum of one hundred (100) open-heart surgical procedures with extracorporeal circulation performed at the Cardiothoracic Department, Aristotle University, AHEPA University Hospital which are registered for each student in a special database (logbook).
