The Postgraduate Programme is structured into three (3) semesters. In the first (A’) semester, six (6) compulsory courses are taught with four (4) ECTS per course and together with Clinical Case Monitoring I with six (6) ECTS. In the second (B’) semester, six (6) compulsory courses are taught with four (4) ECTS per course together with Clinical Case Monitoring II with six (6) ECTS. In the third (C’) semester, the postgraduate diploma thesis is prepared with thirty (30) ECTS and the clinical case monitoring is completed.

Clinical Case Monitoring I and II is compulsory and takes place during the A’ and B’ semesters and is completed during the C’ semester. Postgraduate students are invited to choose one of two (2) clinical case monitoring programs:
 A) Clinical case monitoring in advanced cardiopulmonary support, during which they are required to monitor for at least eighty (80) hours the operation of the Cardiothoracic Department, AHEPA University Hospital of Thessaloniki, which collaborates with the Postgraduate Medical School, as well as to monitor at least twenty (20) open-heart surgical procedures, which are registered for each student in a special database (logbook).

B) Clinical case monitoring in extracorporeal circulation techniques, which includes monitoring at least one hundred (100) surgical procedures with extracorporeal circulation at the Cardiothoracic Department, AHEPA University Hospital of Thessaloniki, which are registered for each student in a special database (logbook).

Attendance of courses by postgraduate students is mandatory. The Postgraduate Programme follows the blended learning system, which combines the face-to-face educational process with distance learning. The courses will be held in physical presence at a rate of twenty-five percent (25%) and with the use of modern distance learning methods at a rate of seventy-five percent (75%). The official language of the program is Greek. The language of preparation of the postgraduate diploma thesis is Greek (and/or English in documented cases).
